ARE eyelash extensions safe?

How often should I get touch ups?

We recommend getting a touch up every 2-3 weeks.  Due to their natural growth cycle, your natural eyelashes fall off every 45-60 days, and are naturally replaced with the growth of a new eyelash. Everyone's experience will differ based on the natural chemistry of their eyelashes and day to day activities. Other factors such as exposure to steam or rubbing and touching your eyes often may cause the extensions to fall off quicker.  Touch ups are needed to replace any lashes that have fallen off or grown out.

 

How should I prepare for my appointment?

Make sure your eyes and lashes are free of any makeup (mascara, eyeliner, etc.) If you're coming from work or in the middle of the day, don't worry! We have makeup remover in the salon.  Try not to have any caffeine.  We want you to be able to come and relax during your appointment and we've found that caffeine causes your eyelids to flutter sometimes making it difficult to apply the extensions.

 

What's the procedure like?

Come ready to relax.  Your eyes will be closed during the entire procedure.  You will be lying flat on your back on a massage chair with pillows under your neck and knees and a blanket while listening to soothing music.  Often times, our clients fall asleep. If you have a musical preference, let us know and we will accomodate your requests.  You will wake up renewed and ready to take on the world with your beautiful, luscious new lashes!

 

WHIERE DO I GO FOR THE PROCEDURE? (2 Options)

 

OPTION #1:  Lash services are performed at our lash studio.

• 10am - 6pm (MON - SAT)

• Closed - (SUN)

 

You will relax on a comfortable leather massage table with pillows for you neck and knees along with cozy blankets.  Ceiling to floor curtains provide a relaxing and private atmosphere where you can sleep or just unwind for an hour or two.  You will wake up transformed and refreshed with your new set of lashes!

 

OPTION #2: I can come to your home.  (Note: This option is very limited due to my availability and increasingly busy schedule.  I perform most of my lash services at the lash studio.  I leave this option open for special circumstances and are booked at least 3 weeks in advance.  (This option only available for Full Sets.)  I will set up a massage table, chair, and lamp anywhere in your home (i.e. living room).  I just need a quiet area in your home away from distractions and pets.  An additional travel and set up fee will apply.

 

Can I swim, shower, exercise, or vist a spa while wearing eyelash extensions?

Yes! The adhesive we use is waterproof and allows you to do all of the above activities.  Overall maintenance is low, but special care is required.  The first 3 hours we don't recommend heavy water usage, such as in the shower. Eyelash extensions are perfect for vacations.

 

Can I apply mascara to Eyelash Extensions?

Yes.  You may find that you don't need mascara because the extensions give the illusion that you're already wearing it. However, if you do decide to wear it, make sure it's a water based mascara (not oil-based or waterproof).  The oil-based and waterproof mascaras can break down the adhesive and shorten the life of your extensions, causing them to fall sooner. If you decide to use mascara, apply it from the middle to the tip avoiding the base of the lashes.  When removing the mascara, make sure you use a water based makeup remover.
